{"id":1863,"date":"2014-10-27T07:49:36","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T14:49:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cookiesorbiscuits.com\/?p=1863"},"modified":"2014-11-23T22:39:46","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T06:39:46","slug":"cumin-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cookiesorbiscuits.com\/?p=1863","title":{"rendered":"Cumin Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, I shared my <a title=\"Chicken Tikka Masala\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cookiesorbiscuits.com\/?p=1836\">Chicken Tikka Masala<\/a> recipe.&nbsp;Indian is rarely served without rice, so today&#8217;s recipe is Cumin Rice which is a lovely accompaniment to last week&#8217;s Chicken Tikka Masala. The waiter looked at him in horror and explained that all meals came were supposed to be eaten with rice. So he took the rice, again &#8211; although he was sick of eating it after a week. Drain and set aside.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-method-item\" yumprintitem=\"1\">Heat the oil in a large saucepan, then add the onion.   Saute for 3-4 minutes, or until the onions are soft.   Add the cumin seeds, lemon juice, salt, rice and water.   Mix well.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-method-item\" yumprintitem=\"2\">Bring the water to a boil, the reduce the heat to low.    Cover the rice and cook for 18-20 minutes, or according to the rice packet directions.   The rice will be ready when most of the water has evaporated.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-method-item\" yumprintitem=\"3\">Remove from the heat and let stand for 5-10 minutes.
